Refurbishment and rear extension of a semi-detached period property in Wimbledon, designed to improve how the house functions without losing what makes it worth caring about. The works involved removing a poor-quality existing extension and replacing it with a new single-storey addition, alongside structural alterations and a ground-floor reconfiguration to create a better-connected, light-filled kitchen and living space. The material palette — London stock brick, timber frames, reconstituted stone, anthracite detailing — was chosen to be honest to the period whilst introducing a contemporary clarity. V+D carried the project from initial design through planning approval, tender, and into construction.
